Description Prince William County, Virginia is located approximately 35 miles southwest of Washington, DC, and Richmond, the capitol of Virginia is approximately 80 miles south of Prince William. Prince William County Schools has approximately 72,654 students, and is the third largest school division in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The school division is comprised of 10 high schools; fifteen middle schools, fifty-three elementary, four special education schools, two alternative school, and two specialty school.
