Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world. Brazil has the tenth largest economy in the world. The most visited places in Brazil includes Fernando de Noronha Island, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the more relaxed city of Salvador in the northeast, or the old colonial towns of Ouro Preto and Olinda. For natural beauty there is the Iguacu Falls.

In Southern Brazil there is the State of Santa Catarina. Small beaches like Mariscal, Garopaba, Taquaras or Estaleiro beach are not too far away from cities. There are fun activities like rafting, diving, fishing, and trekking.

Teach English Brazil Research

I have done some research and spoke with a few friends about teaching English in Brazil.

The best method of looking for an English teaching job in Brazil is to research where you want to live in Brazil first, then contact schools in that area directly rather than waiting for ads to appear on the Internet. This gives you a jump on most other job applicants.

The way to do this is to go to Brazil on a visitor’s visa and start contacting schools once you are in the country. There are English schools everywhere, including the very small towns. You might actually have a better chance of finding a job in a small town because most younger people that live in small towns in Brazil want to move to the big cities.

In bigger cities like Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, there are many native English speakers making your competition greater in these cities so don’t be afraid to try the smaller towns.

What about a visa to participate in the ETP/ESL Program in Brazil?

There are two kinds of visas for ETP/ESL Program

1. Guest-Teacher position – RN 41/99 – Item V work visas – This process is very bureaucratic and requires more documents and take about 40/60 days to be delivered. Visas authorizations are granted in Brazil by Ministry of Labor, upon receipts and analysis of documents submitted by candidates through IICA. If authorized, Visas authorizations are shipped directly to the consulates of residing area of applicants. Ministry of Labor in Brazil is very keen about issuing this kind of work visa.

2. Trainee-Teachers – RN 42/99 – Item I Trainee Visas – They are simplified and quicker, less bureaucracy and may be granted about 10 working days after documents are presented to the
