One teacher writes on teachers.net, “I find the teacher rating site a great potential for slander and therefore I believe should be banned. Chris Keates, National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) said, “Teachers need extra protection from pupils who abuse or humiliate them on rate my teacher web sites. There is a growing trend for children to leave offensive comments on the sites or to make allegations against staff on social networking sites. The rise in abusive messages has had an impact on some teachers’ health, while others say the public criticism has damaged their careers. Teachers are named, exposed to ridicule and subjected to false and malicious allegations.”

Does anyone know how to get a teacher’s name removed from the site? I have an order of protection, but it has been ineffective in getting the slanderous entries removed from my teacher rating. I have comtacted the site many times and they have asked me to show them the legal documentation, but they will not provide me with an address or phone number to submit the documents. Meanwhile my number of ratings is well over the 400 mark-of which 375 are ditectly done by one individual. Tell me how this is fair!
