Teacher candidates studying for the CSET Multiple Subjects exam need to know fractional math.
Below are a few math rules you will find helpful in your CSET studies.

Remember the order of operations: multiplication and division first, addition and subtraction last. Terms enclosed in parentheses should be combined wherever possible.

The product of two or more fractions is equal to the product of the numerators divided by the product of the denominators.

To divide by a number or a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal.

Here’s another one.

To solve an equation for an unknown having a fractional coefficient, multiply both numbers by the reciprocal of the fractional coefficient.

SHOPPING MATH
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need.
