Prepositions
A preposition links nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence. The word or phrase that the preposition introduces is called the object of the preposition. A preposition usually indicates the temporal, spatial or logical relationship of its object to the rest of the sentence.
Examples:
1. The magazine is on the shelf.
The preposition is “on”.
2. The ball is beneath the table.
The preposition is “beneath”.
3. The cane is leaning against the wall.
The preposition is “against”.

after (can also act as a subordinating conjunction)

before (can also act as a subordinating conjunction)

between

I have to take the Language Arts part of my CRCT test tomorrow and I never really understood prepositions. This website helped alot. I know how to identify a prepositional phase now.
