CSU Fullerton Reaccredited Educator Preparation Programs

ONTARIO –A state accreditation team, in collaboration with a national group, has reaccredited the educator preparation programs at CSU Fullerton following a five-day intensive site visit.

Education experts representing the state Committee on Accreditation (COA), an appointed body of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) reviewed extensive program documentation and conducted over 1,000 interviews that included faculty, program graduates, employers and public school administrators. The COA endorsed full accreditation for CSU, Fullerton’s credential programs at its meeting in Ontario on Thursday, January 17, 2008. NCATE will announce its decision in April.

“It is noteworthy that all standards were fully met for all programs. Overall, the institution and its programs are of high quality and are producing graduates who are highly valued by employers,” stated a written report prepared by the state and national team members.

CSU Fullerton offers educator preparation for credentials in the following areas:

Education Specialist:

CSU, Fullerton’s College of Education boasts approximately 2,200 students. In 2005-06, the institution recommended 1,100 candidates for credentials.
