Teacher candidates studying for the CSET Math exam should know the binomial theorem.
The binomial theorem is used to expand binomials to any given power without direct multiplication.
The binomial theorem states that for all positive integer values of n:

Example:
Using the binomial theorem, expand (x + 2)6
Let a = x, b = 2, and n = 6
Substituting in the binomial formula, we get:

Teacher: “What is seven Q plus three Q?”
Student: “Ten Q.”
Teacher: “You’re Welcome.”
